The TJA1050T, 118 is a CAN transceiver for connections between the Controller Local Area Network (CAN) protocol controller and the physical bus. The device provides differential transmission to the bus and differential reception to the CAN controller.

The TJA1050T is the third-generation Philips high-speed CAN transceiver after the PCA82C250 and PCA82C251. The most important difference is that the best match of CANH and CANL output signals makes the lower electromagnetic radiation improves the performance without standby mode when the node is not energized. This makes TJA1050 ideal for nodes in power-saving mode in a partial supply network.
